Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid will have a hearing for his illegal check to the head of New York Islanders defenceman Nick Leddy.
The incident occurred late in the first period of Thursday's 4-3 overtime victory over the Islanders. McDavid's shoulder made contact with Leddy's head, dropping the blue-liner to the ice.
Leddy would remain in the game and McDavid was given a minor penalty on the play. McDavid would later score the overtime winner.
