SAINT JOHN, N.B. — Anthony Boucher's second goal of the game stood as the winner as the Saint John Sea Dogs defeated the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 5-3 on Tuesday to snap a six-game losing streak in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
Yohan Plamondon also struck twice, including an empty-net goal on a power play in the game's final minute, and Maxim Cajkovic had the other goal for the Sea Dogs (2-5-2).
Mitchell Balmas, Brooklyn Kalmikov and Ryan Francis scored for Cape Breton (3-5-0), which has lost three straight.
Alex D'Orio stopped 36 shots for Saint John. William Grimard and Kevin Mandolese combined on 23 saves for the Screaming Eagles.
The Sea Dogs were 2 for 3 on the power play while Cape Breton scored once on two chances with the man advantage.
