Jozy Altidore is facing more punishment following his red card from August 12 as Major League Soccer announced Wednesday that he is suspended one additional game.

The suspension, handed down for what the league described as "violent conduct" during the 9th minute of a matchup against New York City FC, is in addition to his mandatory one-game ban stemming from a red card.

He served the first game of his ban this past Saturday against San Jose, and will sit out the other game this weekend in a rivalry game against the Montreal Impact.

Altidore was also handed an undisclosed fine for the incident.
