Matt Stajan's NHL playing career appears to be over.
The 34-year-old is signing with the Munich Red Bulls of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, Germany's top league.
Stajan played parts of 15 seasons in the NHL after being a second-round pick in 2002 of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
He made his NHL debut in 2002-03, before establishing himself as a full-time NHLer the following season.
The Mississauga, Ont., native was eventually traded to the Calgary Flames in 2009-10 as part of the seven-player blockbuster that sent Dion Phaneuf to Toronto.
The two-way centre had been a Flame ever since, scoring the series-winning goal in Round 1 of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs against Vancouver. He played in his 1,000th NHL game this past season, and has totalled 146 goals and 413 points in 1,003 games overall.
The Red Bulls are the three-time defending DEL champions.
