James van Riemsdyk has signed a five-year deal with the Philadelphia Flyers with an average annual salary of $7 million.
After six seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs, van Riemsdyk is returning to the city where his NHL career started. The 29-year-old spent his first three seasons in Philadelphia after being drafted second overall by the Flyers in 2007.
Van Riemsdyk was the consensus top winger from the 2018 NHL free agent class after scoring a career-high 36 goals this past season.
