{allcanada} Flames sign goaltender Jon Gillies to two-year contract

 

The Calgary Flames have signed goaltender Jon Gillies to a two-year contract, the team announced on Tuesday.

The first year of the deal is two-way, while the second is one-way. The contract has an average annual value of $750,000.

A native of Concord, N.H., played in 11 games last season for the Flames, posting a 2.88 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage. Meanwhile, the 24-year-old made 39 appearances for the AHL's Stockton Heat, recording a 17-16-3 record with a 2.52 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage.

Drafted by the Flames in the third round (75th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft, Gillies has a career 12 NHL appearances with a 4-5-1 record with a 2.71 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage.
