Jets lead best-of-7 series 2-1

WINNIPEG -- The Winnipeg Jets will try to take a 3-1 series lead against the Nashville Predators in Game 4 of the Western Conference Second Round at Bell MTS Place on Thursday.

The Jets rallied from three goals down to defeat the Predators 7-4 in Game 3 on Tuesday.

Teams that take a 3-1 lead in best-of-7 Stanley Cup Playoff series have an all-time series record of 274-28 (90.7 percent), according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

The Jets have won 13 straight games at home, including all four in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Here are 5 keys for Game 3:

Fiala likely out for Predators; Weber returns

Predators forward Kevin Fiala, whose goal in double overtime won Game 2, is not expected to play. There was no update on his status, but he stayed out and skated with Nashville's scratches at the morning skate.

Forward Scott Hartnell will dress for the first time since April 20.

"This is my second game in a month," Hartnell said. "This series has been so fast that I need to do everything I can to make sure I don't get caught out there with the difference in speed."

Defenseman Yannick Weber is set to return for the Predators after missing 17 games because of an upper-body injury sustained on March 24 against the Minnesota Wild. He will replace Alexei Emelin and partner with Matt Irwin.

Predators must stay disciplined

Nashville took four minor penalties in the third period in Game 3, including a high-sticking call against defenseman P.K. Subban that led to the game-winning goal by Jets forward Blake Wheeler.

Penalties have been an issue all season for Nashville. The Predators have been shorthanded 29 times in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, tied for third-most in the NHL, and a League-leading 299 times during the regular season.

Tough series for goalies

A series matching two of the NHL's top offenses has made life difficult on each team's respective Vezina Trophy finalist.

Nashville's Pekka Rinne is 1-2 with a 3.89 goals-against average (12 goals against) and a save percentage of .890 in his three starts in this series. He was 2-1 with a 1.35 GAA, a .951 save percentage and a shutout in his last three starts in the first round against the Colorado Avalanche.

Connor Hellebuyck is 1-1 with a 3.72 goals-against average and a .873 save percentage in his past two starts after going 3-0 with a 0.33 GAA, a .991 save percentage and two shutouts in his three previous starts.

Armia set to return for Jets

Fourth-line forward Joel Armia is expected to dress for the Jets. He was injured in Game 5 of the Western Conference First Round against the Wild and has missed three games.

"It's been tough to watch the games," Armia said. "You get so nervous watching the games because you can't do anything. I like what the team has been doing, playing great hockey, so it's good."

Jets streaking

The Jets are getting production from a variety of sources during the playoffs.

Top-line center Mark Scheifele has seven goals and four assists during a five-game point streak. Wheeler has three goals and six assists during a six-game point streak.

But they're not the only ones producing.

Center Paul Stastny has two goals and five assists during a four-game point streak. Forward Patrik Laine has an assist in each of the three games against Nashville. Forward Bryan Little has one goal and three assists in a four-game point streak. Forward Brandon Tanev has scored a goal in each of his past four games.
