1) It appears to have the correct SACD drive, but the loading carriage is toast. The drive still seems to be spinning ok.
2) It is on version 4.81, but apparently someone that knows there stuff can jailbreak it and roll it back to 3.55
3) It was initially non-operational, but I was able to do the heat gun trick that reconnects the bad solders on the pc board, and also re-did the heat sink goop that had dried up.
4) At the moment, the unit is working (not including the drive issues), and the drive has been completely erased and reformatted.
I am not wanting any money for it, as I can't guarantee anything other than "hey folks it's free". While I'm sure you could get a new drive and use it for the usual couch potato stuff. Ideally I am hoping it would go to someone who wants to use it to rip some discs.
