The Winnipeg Jets are getting a big boost to their blue line as Jacob Trouba makes his return to the lineup Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Trouba had been suffering from a concussion sustained on March 18 against the Dallas Stars. Dallas forward Jamie Benn was entering the Jets zone when Trouba went in for an open-ice hit at the blue line. The Stars captain stood his ground and the Jets defenceman appeared to receive the brunt of the force from the impact.
Trouba attempted to make it to the bench after getting up from the ice, but he struggled to stand up on his own accord and was helped to the dressing room by training staff.
Through 52 games this season, Trouba has three goals and 19 assists with a plus-7 rating.
Maple Leafs forward Leo Komarov will be a game-time decision.
