The Winnipeg Jets announced on Sunday the team has agreed to terms on a one-year entry-level contract worth $925,000 with forward C.J. Suess. Suess has signed an amateur tryout contract with the AHL's Manitoba Moose for the remainder of the season.

The 24-year-old was drafted in the fifth round (129th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft and just finished his senior season playing for the Minnesota State University, Mankato Mavericks.

A native of Forest Lake, Minn., Suess led the Mavericks with 43 points (22 goals and 21 assists) in 40 games and became the first Mavericks player to capture the Western Collegiate Hockey Association scoring title and WCHA player of the year award. He is tied for fifth on the school's career scoring list with 127 career points.

Suess was also named a top-10 finalist for the 2018 Hobey Baker Memorial Award honouring the NCAA's top hockey player.
