RE: [SurroundSound] Digest for surroundsound@googlegroups.com - 10 updates in 1 topic

Sometimes in life we need to make compromises.  Mine was to download the SACDs when I could find them (6 channel flac);  yours may just be to face-up and retain an SACD player for those files, though that'll likely cause problems finding an amp that supports hdmi and 6 channel analogue audio going forward.  DVD-A less of a problem as you can extract the audio and keep it on your NAS.

Maybe the Oppo-UDP205 covers your needs, or an older 203?  Look expensive but if it does the job of several things it might be an answer and let you play conveniently from the couch with minimum hassle.

Try AIMP www.aimp.ru. It plays DSD natively, fully supports WASAPI,
supports 4K monitors and copes well with large file quantities. It also has
the remote option using Android, although I've not tried it. It is also
free.

Hi Lokks,
there is nothing wrong Witz the dune, BUT as you mentioned too, there is something missing.
I want to store my physical data store as it is and not rip before.
And that is not possible, wether with a DVD-A nor with a SACD (multichannel part).
I could not find such a player.
For physical data I have my OPPO 93, its with older firmware, what can handle DVD-A ISO,
BUT not over network,  and SACD-ISOS non at all.

I think (for me), industrie  is not willing to do that (noch ideal why).
BUT it would be possible,  I belive.

Razi,by using SMC(Kodi) and foobar your iso audio problems (sacd,dvd-a) are
gone!
For br-a,br iso,br 3d you' ll need power dvd too on your system.
Tested myself last night.

If I could find a way to actualy SEE cue files when navigating with Kodi,I
can fix playlist loading to foobar from inside Kodi and continuous playback
for individual flac files...

All this is working "over" LAN

I think the OP searches for a hardware mediaplayer and not sofware...

I want to thank Lokks for turning me onto AIMP, I think it's a fantastic
player! I have been using Foobar2000 for quite a while now and I really
like that, too. But it seems that AIMP has a more modern interface and I
was able to get it up and running in just a few minutes. And to me,
programmer by trade, that is the sign of a well-developed piece of software.

I'm gonna spend the next few daze checking it out and customizing the
interface to suit my needs. It is simply *amazing* how good free software
can be. I want t thank the program's author(s), they have done a very good
job with this software!

Happy New Year, y'all !!

The android version is not so spectacular...

Lokkerman <phil.steeples@gmail.com>: Dec 28 10:57PM

Agreed might as well use the standard Android player. But the win version
is something else.
