{allcanada} Tkachuk to have hearing for actions in Flames game against Maple Leafs

Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Thursday for unsportsmanlike conduct for actions during the game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday.

At 14:07 of the first period, Tkachuk appeared to spear Maple Leafs forward Matt Martin while still on the Flames bench. Martin's hit on Flames forward Troy Brouwer had triggered a scrum in front of the bench.

Tkachuk was suspended one game for unsportsmanlike conduct Nov. 17 for his role in a fight during a game against the Detroit Red Wings on Nov. 15.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: unsportsmanlike conduct. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.

The Maple Leafs won the game 2-1 in a shootout.
