Former Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Johnny Bower has died Tuesday after a short battle with pneumonia. He was 93.
The family confirmed the news.
Bower led the Maple Leafs to their last Stanley Cup championship in 1967, his fourth with the team. His No. 1 is retired by the Leafs and a statue of him can be found outside of Air Canada Centre as part of Legends Row.
Bower had a 250-195-90 record, 2.51 goals-against average and 37 shutouts in this 15-year NHL career. He's been an ambassador for the Leafs since 1990.
