The Vancouver Canucks have reduced their pre-season roster by sending Jakob Stukel to the Calgary Hitman and Anton Cederholm, Mackenzie Stewart and Danny Moynihan to the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League.
Stukel was the Canucks' sixth-round pick in the 2016 draft, and the forward has played the previous two seasons with the Hitman during which he recorded 109 points in 127 games.
Moynihan, an undrafted 21-year-old, posted 166 points in 197 QMJHL games split between the Halifax Mooseheads and the Shawinigan Cataractes. Last season he made his professional debut playing for the Alaska Aces of the ECHL and notched 52 points in 71 games.
Defencemen Cederholm and Stewart will join Moyniham in Utica. Cederholm, a fifth-round pick from 2013 spent last season playing in Sweden, and Stewart, a seventh-round pick from 2014, played with Moyniham and the Aces in his most recent season.
