Mirabel, Que -- Alex Tagliani didn't let the new track layout stop him from claiming the E3 Spark Plugs pole award for Saturday's ECKO Unlimited 75 at Circuit ICAR.
Tagliani's No.18 EpiPen/ Lowe's Dodge set a blazing lap time of 49.304 seconds (49.943mph) earning him his third E3 Spark Plugs Pole Award at ICAR.
The Lachenaie, Quebec driver's time was also fast enough to set the inaugural track record on the new shorter .624 mile layout.
Kevin Lacroix, who was fastest in practice, posted the second fastest time with a 49.373 (50.873).
Points leader Alex Labbe will roll of from the third spot. Four time ICAR winner Andrew Ranger will start fourth, followed by Cayden Lapcevich in fifth.
Marc- Antoine Camirand will start sixth, while LP Dumoulin, Matthew Scannell, Elie Arseneau and Anthony Simone round out the top ten starters.
Green flag for the ECKO Unlimited 75 will drop at 7.p.m.
