{allcanada} Patrick Marleau signs three-year deal with Maple Leafs

 

Veteran forward Patrick Marleau has signed a three-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs with an average annual value of $6.25 million.

Marleau, 37, had 27 goals and 46 points while playing in all 82 games this past season. He hasn't missed a game since 2009 and has appeared in 624 consecutive contests.

Marleau began his NHL career with the San Jose Sharks in 1997 after being drafted by the team second overall, one spot behind Joe Thornton. He holds the franchise marks for goals (508), points (1,082) and games played (1,493).
