Sidney Crosby left Monday's Game 3 against the Washington Capitals after being hit in the head from defenceman Matt Niskanen.
Crosby was cutting in for a scoring chance in the first period when he was knocked off balance. Niskanen came in to finish his check and caught Crosby's head.
Niskanen was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct for cross-checking.
