Ducks team scope
The Anaheim Ducks will look to win their sixth straight game and maintain their lead in the Pacific Division; they hold a two-point edge on the San Jose Sharks and Edmonton Oilers, who face each other Thursday in Edmonton. The Ducks, who clinched their fifth consecutive Stanley Cup Playoff berth on Tuesday, are expected to have center Ryan Getzlaf back in the lineup after missing one game with a lower-body injury. Anaheim is 9-1-1 in its past 11 games. "We've been playing good," said Getzlaf, who has seven assists in his past three games and 20 points (three goals, 17 assists) in his past 12 games. "For the most part, I've felt we've done a good job not overreacting to situations, kind of learning as the game went along, and overall, we've been playing pretty right defensively. That's good for our group going forward." Goaltender Jonathan Bernier, 9-0-1 in his past game games, will start. John Gibson dressed as the backup on Tuesday after missing seven games and 13 of the past 14 with a lower-body injury.
Jets team scope
Winnipeg Jets defenseman Toby Enstrom, who was out with a concussion, had knee surgery on Thursday and will miss the rest of the season. Enstrom had surgery on the same knee last year. "Because of the concussion, we hoped while he was off the ice his knee would settle down, and it did," coach Paul Maurice said. "We got him back, he cleared his neurological testing, got back on it … it got bad right away again." The Jets, 5-2-0 in their past seven games, were eliminated from Stanley Cup Playoff contention when the St. Louis Blues defeated the Arizona Coyotes 4-1 on Monday. "We've changed our structure around [on the penalty kill], and I think that's one area we've tweaked and we've talked about that we might not see the results early," forward Adam Lowry said. "We might be giving up a couple more goals here, but just getting comfortable in that structure so next year we can hit the ground running, and our special teams isn't an area of concern like it was this year."
