{allcanada} Senators’ Bobby Ryan aggravates hand injury vs. Sabres

The Ottawa Senators will be without forward Bobby Ryan for at least one game, head coach Guy Boucher said following Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Buffalo Sabres.

Ryan left Tuesday's game after aggravating a previous injury to his right hand and did not return.

Boucher didn't offer a specific timeline for Ryan's absence.

"We'll see how long. I don't know how long, but he won't play the next game for sure."

The 29-year-old winger suffered the initial injury on Nov. 17 against the Nashville Predators after he was hit in the hand with the puck. After a two-game absence, Ryan returned to the Senators' lineup last Thursday versus the Boston Bruins, opting to play through the injury despite not being 100 per cent.

"He'd been battling in the last games to stay in the lineup but it got to the point where he couldn't take it anymore," Boucher told reporters Tuesday night.

Ryan has three goals and five assists in 20 games so far this season.

Defenceman Marc Methot also left Tuesday's game (lower-body injury) and is listed as "day-to-day."
