Jets team scope
Winnipeg Jets rookie left wing Patrik Laine said he's looking forward to making his Madison Square Garden debut. "I've never been there so it's nice to go out there knowing we are facing a really good team," Laine said. "I'm really excited and looking forward to the game." Laine has seven goals and the Jets are 4-0-0 when he scores. Laine has four multipoint games this season, which ties him with Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander for most by a rookie. The Jets have won four of their past five visits to the Garden and have outscored the New York Rangers 16-10 during that stretch. Coach Paul Maurice will not make any lineup changes when the Jets play the third of 10 road games in November. "You can't really change your style in the NHL," Maurice said. "You can make adjustments on what you need to be aware of, and the speed of the Rangers is clearly something you have to be aware of. They get up the ice with four guys and make those lateral passes. They have a lot of skill to get to the net very quickly so you have to manage the puck well. There's a handful of things that make them unique but almost every team has something that makes them different so you have to prepare for that." Connor Hellebuyck is expected start in goal.
Rangers team scope
The New York Rangers did not skate Sunday after a 5-2 win at the Boston Bruins on Saturday. Forward Rick Nash has at least one point in three of his past four games. He has six goals and nine points and is one goal from 400 in his NHL career. The Rangers have won four straight games while outscoring opponents 21-6, scoring at least five goals in each game, and lead the NHL with 50 goals and a plus-23 goal differential in 12 games. Derek Stepan and Kevin Hayes scored shorthanded goals Saturday, when the Rangers finished 3-for-3 on the penalty kill. They're tied for 13th in the League killing penalties at 82.4 percent. "[Michael Grabner] might be one of the best penalty killers I've seen," Stepan said. "He's so smart, he anticipates well and he can skate. That's really hard to be able to be that good."
