HURRICANES (2-4-2) at SENATORS (5-3-0)

7:30 p.m. ET; RDS2, TSN5, FS-CR, NHL.TV

Hurricanes team scope

The Carolina Hurricanes continue a stretch in which they will play nine of their first 12 games on the road. They are 1-3-2 on the road and are coming off a 4-3 loss at home to the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday in which forward Jeff Skinner scored his third goal in two games. "We've been on the road for a lot of the season and this is a big game for us especially coming off last game, we didn't get the result we wanted," Skinner said. "We want to turn that around." Skinner, who has five goals and six assists, is tied for second in the League with 11 points. He is on a line with Victor Rask and Lee Stempniak. "When we get rolling around the offensive zone and can get some zone time, that allows us to create some opportunities," Skinner said. "Right now, fortunately, they've been going in for us. Hopefully we can keep that going." The Hurricanes are 16-5-4 against Ottawa since March 29, 2009. Defenseman Ryan Murphy (lower body) was activated off injured reserve Tuesday and is expected to play his first game of the season. Forward Martin Frk was claimed off waivers by the Detroit Red Wings.

Senators team scope

Goaltender Craig Anderson is coming off his second-straight shutout, a 37- save performance against the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday. He will start his second game since rejoining the Ottawa Senators after a one-game leave of absence following his wife Nicholle's cancer diagnosis. The Senators, who went 2-1-0 on their trip to Western Canada, will play 10 of 15 games in November at home. "We had a great road trip. A lot of things happened, both on and off the ice," Senators captain Erik Karlsson said. "Overall, with our performance we are happy, but we have to make sure we come back with the same energy tonight and keep reminding ourselves we have a lot to do to accomplish what we want to accomplish. We're not going to be satisfied with anything we've done so far."
