Edmonton Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly took part in practice on Wednesday, testing out his injured left arm ahead of the Eastern Final.
TSN's Ryan Rishaug reported Reilly made a 30-yard throw in practice without issue Wednesday.
Reilly was forced to exit Edmonton's Eastern Semi-Final win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the fourth quarter due to the injury. Jonathan Franklin entered the game and completed two of four passes for 19 yards.
Reilly, last year's Grey Cup MVP, had completed 10 of 19 passes for 133 yards before the injury.
The 31-year-old threw for a career-high 5,554 yards during the regular season with 28 touchdowns to 12 interceptions.
Reilly vowed after the game he would play against the Ottawa Redblacks (8-9-1), stating there was "no doubt" he would make the start.
The Eskimos signed quarterback Thomas DeMarco on Wednesday as a potential insurance plan in case Reilly is unable to dress on Sunday.
The Eastern Final marks a Grey Cup rematch with the Eskimos (10-8) winning the crossover to CFL East. Reilly completed 21 of 35 passes in the Grey Cup for 269 yards and two touchdowns.
The Redblacks swept the two-game season series between the two clubs by a combined score of 68-57.
