CANUCKS (4-4-1) at CANADIENS (8-0-1)

7:30 p.m. ET; SN, RDS, NHL.TV

Canucks team scope

Vancouver Canucks coach Willie Desjardins confirmed forwards Alexandre Burrows (neck) and Derek Dorsett (shoulder) are ready to return, but defenseman Christopher Tanev, who has missed the past three games because of a lower-body injury, will be a game-time decision. Defensemen Troy Stecher and Tom Nilsson were reassigned to Utica of the American Hockey League following the morning skate, an indication Tanev could be cleared to play. The Canucks begin a six-game road trip having lost five straight (0-4-1) since winning their first four games. "That's one of the biggest challenges in this league," Burrows said after an optional morning skate at Bell Centre. "We weren't as good as everybody was saying when we started off 4-0, and we're not as bad as people are saying right now with our losing streak going on right now, so you've got to stay even keel. But if we do the right things out there, play well structurally, we have good goaltending, we can get on the power play and score some goals there, we'll be in this game tonight and we'll try to make the most of it."

Canadiens team scope

The Montreal Canadiens have won seven straight and are the only team yet to lose in regulation. Despite the remarkable start, left wing Max Pacioretty said they are not getting overconfident about their success in October. The Canadiens won their first nine games last season before losing in Vancouver. "We're paying attention to all the little details and just trying to make sure we improve every day," Pacioretty said. "We're not perfect. We know that. We've just got to have the right mindset, though, that when something does pop up, that we try and tackle it right away and make sure that it doesn't linger. We didn't like our full 60 minutes against Toronto. There were some lapses in areas that we want to improve and we're looking to do so tonight."

Status report

Hansen had an interesting perspective on playing with the Sedin twins. "It's very easy, and it's very hard," Hansen said. "I know it's a little contradicting, but you're getting opportunities, you're getting shots from better position, but you're probably going to see a lot of Weber tonight too. So it goes hand in hand. You're seeing tough matchups but they tend to get you the puck in prime scoring position."... Canadiens coach Michel Therrien will use the same lineup from a 2-1 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday … Defenseman Mikhail Sergachev, 18, was returned to Windsor of the OHL on Monday.
