Set phasers to "son"!
A man has published a book about his quest to prove that he's William Shatner's child.
In "The Search," Peter Sloan — who goes by pen name Peter Shatner — details a quest that led him from Canada to Switzerland in hopes of proving the "Star Trek" actor is his dad.
Shatner has vehemently denied he is related to Sloan.
Adopted Sloan tells Page Six he first learned of his real father after locating his mother, Canadian actress Kathy McNeil, in 1984 and says he got the scoop on his paternity from his mom's former roommate.
"I found her in Switzerland in 1984 and recorded the conversation," Sloan said, claiming that the roomie confessed she walked in on McNeil and Shatner. "Two months later, she finds out she is pregnant and comes to New York to get an abortion," claims Sloan, who says McNeil was talked out of it by a Catholic friend.
Although the author, 59, filed a suit against Shatner for $170 million in March, he claims that he's not looking to live long and prosper from his famous "father."
"I want closure, but a DNA test would be the best," he said. "I do not think that William will take one. I have asked for it repeatedly. He may be afraid that I am going to go after his estate." But he holds out hope Shatner will claim him.
Shatner's rep has said of the suit: "He isn't [Sloan's] father."
