Toronto Argonauts quarterback Ricky Ray will miss the next 4-6 weeks with a rib fracture and a partially deflated lung, according to TSN's CFL reporter Matthew Scianitti.
On Thursday, Herb Zurkowsky of the Montreal Gazette reported that Ray punctured his lung during the Argos' Labour Day loss to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats that would cause him to miss the rest of the year. The Argonauts did not confirm that report.
This marks the second significant injury for Ray on the season. He missed three games earlier in the summer with a knee injury. The native of Happy Camp, California appeared in only three games for the Argos a season ago after recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.
The Argonauts have three other quarterbacks on their roster in Logan Kilgore, Brady Bolles and the recently signed Dan LeFevour. LeFevour is slated to start for Toronto this Sunday against the Ticats.
With the injury, TSN Senior Correspondent Gary Lawless says the Argonauts may look to get some help at the position. Lawless is hearing Winnipeg Blue Bombers pivot Drew Willy and Kevin Glenn of the Montreal Alouettes could be available on the trade market.
