Jim Popp is not expecting to hold the head coaching role for the Montreal Alouettes next season.

The 51-year-old told La Presse this week he does not expect to coach the team in 2017.

The Alouettes are 3-8 under Popp this season and sit last in the East Division. Last season, the team went 3-7 once Popp took over as head coach for Tom Higgins.

Popp owns a 22-35 career record as head of the Alouettes, who were defeated 38-27 by the B.C. Lions on Friday night.
