{allcanada} Stamps sign International DL Minter

The Calgary Stampeders signed international defensive linemen Zach Minter on Monday.

In his rookie season with the BC Lions last year, the 26-year-old made 16 tackles, three sacks, one force fumble and one knockdown. Minter dressed for the Lions' Western Semi-Final game against the Calgary Stampeders.

The Montana State product was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2013 by the Chicago Bears. In Week 6 against the New York Giants he made his NFL debut. The team waived a month later. Minter then spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys in 2014 before making his way to Canada.

Stampeders Head Coach Dave Dickerson believes the D-line could us the help. "We need some more depth, so we brought him in and let him compete."

Minter and the Stamps travel to Ottawa to take on the Redblacks Friday in their home opener.
