Arbitration is officially off the table for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Leafs signed defenceman Martin Marincin to a two-year, $2.5 million contract on Friday. Marincin had been set to have an arbitration hearing with the team on August 2.
Marincin becomes the third and final Leaf to settle before arbitration, joining Peter Holland and Frank Corrado.
The 24-year-old scored one goal and added six assists in 65 games during his first season with the Maple Leafs. He was acquired by Toronto in a trade with the Edmonton Oilers last June.
Marincin was selected in the second round - 46th overall - of the 2010 NHL Draft by the Oilers. He owns two goals and 18 points in 150 career games.
