Dwane Casey is staying in Toronto for the long term.
Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Raptors have signed their head coach to a three-year extension worth $18 million. Casey, 59, had one year remaining on his current deal, which will now be torn up. The new deal takes Casey through the 2018-19 season.
Casey has been bench boss of the Raptors for five seasons, making the playoffs in the last three of them. The team has won two consecutive Atlantic Division titles.
The native of Indianapolis led the Raptors to a franchise-best 56 wins this past season and a playoff run that saw the club win its first ever best-of-seven series on the way to an Eastern Conference Finals appearance.
