Team Glenn Howard announced Monday that David Mathers, formerly of Adam Casey's rink, will be their new second for the 2016-17 season.

Mathers, 25, will replace veteran curler Wayne Middaugh who missed much of last season after breaking his leg shortly prior to the Ontario Tankard. Adam Spencer, who took over for Middaugh at the Tankard and the Brier, will not be back next fall either. Richard Hart will be bumped back up to vice after throwing second stones this past season. Scott, Glenn's son, will remain at lead.
