NEW YORK — Montreal Impact midfielder Ignacio Piatti has been named Major League Soccer's player of the week.

Piatti scored two goals and drew a penalty kick converted by Didier Drogba in the Impact's 4-4 draw in Columbus on Saturday.

Piatti has also been nominated for goal of the week honours and was selected to the MLS team of the week for a fifth time this season.

The Argentine is currently tied for second in MLS with two game-winning goals and two multi-goal games.
