BARRIE, Ont. - The Niagara IceDogs scored three unanswered goals in a 1:08 span in the third period to come from behind and defeat the host Barrie Colts 3-2 on Thursday to open the Ontario Hockey League's Eastern Conference Final.
Blake Siebenaler started the rally for the IceDogs when he put them on the board at 11:37 of the third to make it 2-1 Barrie. Josh Ho-Sang tied the game at 12:31 and Jordan Maletta scored the winner 14 second slater.
Justin Scott and Andrew Mangiapane found the back of the net for the Colts.
Niagara's Alex Nedeljkovic turned aside 27-of-29 shots for the win as Mackenzie Blackwood made 39 saves for Barrie.
The IceDogs went 1 for 4 with the power play while the Colts failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.
Barrie hosts Game 2 Saturday. London beat Erie 7-4 on Wednesday to open the Western Conference Final.
