The Winnipeg Jets have recalled defenceman Brenden Kichton from the Manitoba Moose of the AHL on an emergency basis, the team announced Friday.
A seventh-round pick in 2013, Kichton leads the Moose in scoring this season with 34 points (nine goals, 25 assists) in 62 games.
The 23-year-old could make his NHL debut against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday should Jacob Trouba, who wasn't at Jets practice on Friday, be unable to play.
Trouba blocked a shot in Thursday's win over the Los Angeles Kings.
The Jets have already shut down blue-liner Tyler Myers for the season.
