Season series: The Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Winnipeg Jets 3-0 at MTS Centre on Nov. 7. Claude Giroux had two assists and goalie Michal Neuvirth made 28 saves for Philadelphia.

Jets team scope: Winnipeg plays its first game since being eliminated from contention for the Stanley Cup Playoffs after a 3-2 road loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. "I've been here long enough I think the coaches know what I bring to the table," defenseman Paul Postma told the Winnipeg Free Press. "But, in the same sense, we've still got a lot to play for here - pride and going into next year with good habits. We're not going to let that slip away and finish strong here." Coach Paul Maurice has not confirmed a starting goalie. Michael Hutchinson and Ondrej Pavelec have alternated the past two starts; Hutchinson made 26 saves against Buffalo. Right wing Blake Wheeler has a four-game point streak (one goal, four assists) and center Mark Scheifele has a three-game point streak (one goal, three assists). Defenseman Brenden Kichton was reassigned to Manitoba of the American Hockey League on Saturday.

Flyers team scope: Giroux "was fine Saturday night and is fine today," general manager Ron Hextall said Sunday after the Flyers captain was hit by Arizona Coyotes center Martin Hanzal late in a 2-1 road loss on Saturday. The Flyers went 2-1-1 on their four-game road trip and return home to play five of their final eight games at Wells Fargo Center. "We've battled hard this entire road trip," coach Dave Hakstol told the team website. "We battled pretty hard [Saturday] but came up on the short end. We go home off this trip in control of our own destiny." Philadelphia is tied at 85 points with the Detroit Red Wings for the second wild card into the playoffs from the Eastern Conference; Philadelphia holds the tiebreaker having played one fewer game. Goalie Steve Mason has started 10 of the past 11 games and is 6-2-2 with a .927 save percentage. Center Sean Couturier has a four-game point streak (one goal, three assists).
