{allcanada} Flames sign Jankowski to entry-level contract

Forward Mark Jankowski signed an entry-level contract with the Calgary Flames on Wednesday. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Jankowski was selected by the Flames with the 21st pick in the 2012 NHL Draft and spent four seasons playing collegiately for Providence. He recently completed his senior season with 15 goals and 40 points in 38 games.

"It's a really special day for everyone in my family," Jankowski told the Flames website. "It's been a great journey and now I think it's time to take the next step and officially join the Flames organization. It always seemed that Calgary was the right fit for me."

"Ever since I was picked by Calgary in 2012 it's held a special place in my heart. They've been nothing but great ever since then. When the management switched over and everything, [general manager] Brad Treliving and his staff has been exceptional. For me, I always wanted to be a Flame."

Jankowski's contract will begin with the 2016-17 season; he will join Stockton of the American Hockey League for the remainder of this season on an amateur tryout contract.
