TV: 10 p.m. ET; CSN-CA, CBC, SN, NHL.TV
Season series: The San Jose Sharks won two games against the Vancouver Canucks this week, 4-1 on Sunday and 3-2 on Thursday. The Sharks scored all four of their goals Sunday in the third period. Forward Patrick Marleau scored a goal in each game, including the game-winner Thursday.
Canucks team scope: Vancouver has lost three straight and is 4-10-1 in its past 15 games. "We have shown we can play against [tough competition] when we're focused and we're playing the way we want," captain Henrik Sedin told the Canucks website. "There have been a few lapses here and there and that's been hurting us the last couple games." Vancouver won two of its past three road games but finished a five-game homestand Thursday and hasn't played on the road since Feb. 19. Forward Radim Vrbata, who scored four goals in his past three games, remains day-to-day with a groin injury he sustained on Feb. 21.
Sharks team scope: Goaltender James Reimer will start, his first appearance for San Jose. He was traded by the Toronto Maple Leafs last Saturday but his arrival was delayed and he met the Sharks in Vancouver. "You want to get going, you want to contribute to what they've got going here," Reimer told the San Jose Mercury News. Reimer was 11-12-7 for the Maple Leafs. Goaltender Martin Jones started 10 consecutive games for San Jose and was 7-2-1, including three straight wins. "Any time you play lots of games, you get a better feel for the game," Jones told the Sharks website. He is third in the NHL with 3,132 minutes played.
