MONTREAL—Montreal Canadiens goaltender Ben Scrivens will be placed on waivers Wednesday at noon, the team announced.
Scrivens, who was traded to the Canadiens on Dec. 28, went 5-8-0 in 14 appearances with the team.
Earlier Wednesday, the Canadiens announced a two-year deal with goaltender Charlie Lindgren.
Lindgren, who was 30-9-1 this season with the St. Cloud State Huskies of the NCAA, is traveling with the team to Tampa Bay where he'll back up goaltender Mike Condon Thursday. He will finish out the season with the Canadiens and burn the first year of his contract.
