While the league anxiously awaits whether the Hamilton Tiger-Cats will sign their top free agent, Ted Laurent, it appears they are at least closing in on locking up another of their very important pending free agents, Courtney Stephen.
TSN CFL Insider Gary Lawless reports Stephen is close to signing a new deal with the Ticats. Stephen is TSN's fifth-ranked National free agent still available. His third season with the Ticats was his best, finishing with 48 tackles and four interceptions. Stephen reportedly had interest from the NFL this off-season.
