Utah Jazz forward and Saskatoon native Trey Lyles has been added to the World Team for the NBA Rising Stars Challenge to be held during All-Star Weekend in Toronto.
Lyles steps in for injured Chicago Bulls forward Nikola Mirotic. The rookie out of Kentucky becomes the third Canadian on the World Team, joining reigning Rookie of the Year Andrew Wiggins of the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Dallas Mavericks' Dwight Powell.
Taken 12th overall in last June's NBA Draft, the 20-year-old Lyles has averaged 4.7 points and 4.0 boards in 45 games this season in 18.1 minutes a night.
The Rising Stars Challenge, pitting Team World against Team USA, is set for February 12 from the Air Canada Centre.
