Buck Pierce will move from coaching running backs to overseeing quarterbacks in his new role in 2016.

Pierce joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers coaching staff prior to the 2014 season and has spent the past two years as the club's running backs coach.

Pierce returns to his familiar quarterback position and will oversee the continued development of starting quarterback Drew Willy, while also working with all other quarterbacks. He re-joins Offensive Coordinator Paul LaPolice, who was the head coach with Winnipeg for two-and-a-half seasons when Pierce was the starting quarterback.

He retired from the CFL in March of 2013 as one of the most notable players to don a Bomber uniform in his era. His nine seasons in the CFL were played with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and B.C. Lions, and he finished with 15,289 yards, 76 touchdowns, 1,200 completions, and 130 games played.
