Season series: The Anaheim Ducks swept a three-game season series against the Winnipeg Jets in 2014-15. Anaheim also swept the best-of-7 Western Conference First Round series against Winnipeg. Ducks forward Rickard Rakell had two goals and four assists in the regular-season series.

Jets team scope: Center Mark Scheifele (concussion) is a possibility to play for the first time since Dec. 22. "He looks right, he feels right," coach Paul Maurice told the Jets website. "If he's not absolutely not 100 percent, we won't consider him for the lineup. If he absolutely is, then we'll sit down with management and have a discussion." Maurice has not announced whether rookie goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, who has started 10 of the past 11 games, will start after playing in a 4-1 win at the San Jose Sharks on Saturday. Otherwise, Michael Hutchinson, who has started once since Dec. 6, would start. Winnipeg has lost 12 of its past 14 road games.

Ducks team scope: Anaheim starts a season-high eight-game homestand after announcing that defenseman Cam Fowler will miss another 3-5 weeks because of a knee sprain sustained Dec. 27, according to the Ducks website. Goaltender John Gibson is expected to start after Frederik Andersen played in a 2-1 shootout loss at the Vancouver Canucks this past Friday; he has a shutout in each of his past two starts. Anaheim has at least a point in each of its past five games (3-0-2). "This is a really important stretch for us," forward Andrew Cogliano said. "I think we set ourselves up nicely coming off the road and playing the [past] five games pretty [well]. We can make a big step here by winning a lot of games at home and using the opportunity of playing at home to our advantage."
