CALGARY - The struggling Kootenay ice lost their 14th game in a row, falling 3-2 to Calgary in Western Hockey League action on Monday.
The Ice took a 2-1 lead into the third period in an attempt to break the lengthy skid, but Jake Bean scored a power-play goal 2:10 into the final period to tie it, and Jakob Stukel scored the winner a few minutes later.
Tyler Mrkonjic also scored for Calgary (24-13-2), which has won eight of its past 10 games.
Matt Alfaro, on a power play, and Bryan Allbee had the goals for Kootenay (6-30-2).
Cody Porter made 20 saves for Calgary, while Wyatt Hoflin stopped 30 shots for the Ice.
Oil Kings 3 Rebels 1
EDMONTON — Brandon Baddock and Brett Pollock each had a goal and an assist as the Oil Kings defeated Red Deer.
Luke Bertolucci had the other goal for Edmonton (15-19-4).
Jake DeBrusk scored and Trevor Martin made 35 saves for the Rebels (24-13-0).
Rockets 3 Blazers 2
KELOWNA, B.C. — Kole Lind had three goals as the league-leading Rockets beat Kamloops.
Michael Herringer made 37 saves for the Rockets (27-9-1).
Matt Needham and Collin Shirley scored for the Blazers (17-13-4).
Cougars 3 Royals 2 (SO)
VICTORIA — Jansen Harkins scored the shootout winner as Prince George edged the Royals.
Tate Olson and Chase Witala each had a goal and an assist in regulation for the Cougars (21-12-2).
Vladimir Bobylev and Alex Forsberg scored for the Royals (22-12-2).
