Season series: The Detroit Red Wings and Winnipeg Jets split their two-game series in 2014-15, with the road team winning each game. Detroit forward Tomas Tatar had two goals and two assists. Each game was decided by one goal, including a 4-3 Detroit win at MTS Centre on Nov. 20, 2014.

Red Wings team scope: It has not been confirmed whether goaltender Jimmy Howard will start. Petr Mrazek has played the past two games. Detroit has split the first two games of its three-game road trip following a 3-1 loss at the Minnesota Wild on Monday. Former Winnipeg Jets forward Eric Tangradi, who was recalled from Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League before the game Monday, could play against his former team, according to the Detroit Free Press. Forward Luke Glendening (illness) did not play at Minnesota. Defensemen Jonathan Ericsson (shoulder) and Kyle Quincey (ankle) are out, along with forwards Johan Franzen (concussion), Drew Miller (broken jaw) and Teemu Pulkkinen (dislocated shoulder).

Jets team scope: Defenseman Dustin Byfuglien left practice early Monday, but coach Paul Maurice said he will play Tuesday. "It's just something nagging him, but he'll be OK," Maurice said, according to the Jets website. It has not been confirmed whether goalie Connor Hellebuyck will start, but he is coming off a 1-0 shutout against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday. Hellebuyck has started six of the past seven games. Winnipeg has won five of its past six games at MTS Centre in December; in the past two home wins, the visiting team has played at Minnesota the night before.
