The Toronto Maple Leafs reassigned goaltender Antoine Bibeau and forward Rich Clune to the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies Saturday, the team announced via official release.
Bibeau served as the Maple Leafs' backup goaltender with James Reimer and Garret Sparks out with injury. Clune has appeared in two games with the club this season, last playing on October 31 in a meeting with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
With Bibeau on his way back to the AHL, James Reimer could be nearing a return to NHL action. Reimer missed three games at the end of November after suffering a lower-body injury in practice. He returned to the lineup to face the Minnesota Wild on December 3, but has not played since.
The Maple Leafs visit the New York Islanders on Sunday.
