Winnipeg Jets center Mark Scheifele sustained a head injury in practice Saturday and his status against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday is uncertain, according to The Winnipeg Sun.
Scheifele accidentally collided with Andrew Ladd during a drill at MTS Centre. The 22-year-old was bloody, appeared woozy and was escorted off the ice by his teammates.
"Looks like a couple stiches right now," coach Paul Maurice told The Winnipeg Sun. "We'll give it some time and see how he's feeling [Sunday]."
Scheifele has 12 goals and 10 assists in 34 games this season, including four goals and five assists in his past nine.
