{allcanada} Steve Carell Calls Ryan Gosling's '80s Look in The Big Short a 'Creep Show'

Ryan Gosling Looked Like a 'Creep Show' in The Big Short, says Steve Carell

Steve Carell is not a fan of the arrogant-'80s-banker look.

Carell, 53, shared his thoughts on his costar
Ryan Gosling's new look for the film The Big Short at the movie's New York City premiere.

"When
Ryan Gosling came out of hair and makeup for the first time, I told him, 'never look like that again,'" Carell says.

In the film, the two actors play Wall Streeters who are among a small group of financial experts who see the 2008 real-estate crash coming and win big when they go up against the big banks.

While Carell went for a lighter mop-top in the role, Gosling took his transformation to the next level, sporting a questionable tan and dark, slicked-back hair.

"It was perfect for the movie, really bad for him as a human being," Carell adds, laughing.

The two first worked together in Crazy, Stupid, Love in 2011, and have remained close friends – so close in fact, that Carell has no problem telling Gosling exactly what he thinks.

"It's a creep show," he says.

And while it may not be his best look, let's be honest, Gosling never looks bad.

Also starring
Brad Pitt and Christian Bale, The Big Short opens in limited release Dec. 11 and hits theaters nationwide Dec. 23.
