Yakupov was injured when he got tangled up with linesman Matt MacPherson following a faceoff at centre ice in the second period of Wednesday night's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The 22-year-old had to be helped off the ice after the incident and did not return to the game.

Yakupov has 12 points, including two goals, in 22 games this season.
