Winnipeg Jets coach Paul Maurice had no update on injured goalie Ondrej Pavelec on Sunday, but said he will not be available for the game Monday against the Colorado Avalanche.

"I'm still gathering information," Maurice told the Jets website. "I can't give you an answer looking at his injury, so we'll until all the doctors have weighed in on him on their diagnosis."

Pavelec sustained a lower-body injury in the second period of the Jets' 3-2 win against the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday after a collision with Coyotes captain Shane Doan and reportedly was seen leaving MTS Centre on crutches.

"I didn't see him after the game and I don't know how he was getting home," Maurice said. "But that wouldn't be that big a deal, to be honest with you, if a guy was on them just to keep the pressure off his injury. We get guys on flights all the time with their feet in those casts to keep the compression down to keep as much blood out of it as you can.

"So again, I'm not a doctor but that wouldn't throw up a big red flag for me."

Doan was pushed by Jets defenseman Mark Stuart before crashing into Pavelec.

"I think Doan is a pretty honest, pretty clean player who plays hard," Maurice said. "But there is a responsibility to minimize the damage you do going into the net. I don't think it was intentional, I really don't. This game happens so fast and those are two big, strong men going to the net."

Goalie Connor Hellebuyck was recalled from Manitoba of the American Hockey League on Sunday. The Jets' fifth-round pick (No. 130) in the 2012 NHL Draft is 2-7-1 with a 2.41 goals-against average and .927 save percentage with Manitoba this season.

"I can only hope [Pavelec] gets better soon," Hellebuyck said. "It just means that I can come to a new team and show them what I got, and hopefully be there for them. I'm just going to come here, get better every day and give my best, and whatever happens, happens."

Goalie Michael Hutchinson is expected to start for the Jets (10-9-2) against the Avalanche (7-12-1) in the finale of a three-game homestand.

"Nothing really changes in my preparation," Hutchinson said. "My lone goal coming into every game is to help the team win when I get a chance. That's the only thing I'm going to try to do right now."
