The Toronto Blue Jays have signed left-handed pitcher J.A. Happ to a three-year deal worth $36 million, the team announced on Friday.

Happ was a member of the Toronto Blue Jays from 2012-14 where he recorded a 19-20 record and a 4.39 ERA in 58 appearances including 50 starts.

The Blue Jays dealt Happ to the Seattle Mariners prior to the 2015 season in exchange for Canadian outfielder Michael Saunders.

He made 31 starts during the 2015 season split between the Mariners and the Pirates, who acquired him at the trade deadline.

After the trade to the Pirates, Happ posted a 7-2 record with a 1.85 ERA to finish the season.

The 33-year-old has also appeared with the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros over the course of his nine year MLB career.
