Season series: The Winnipeg Jets won each of two games against the Columbus Blue Jackets last season, outscoring Columbus 8-2. Michael Hutchinson had a 29-save shutout in a 4-0 win at Winnipeg.
Jets team scope: Winnipeg begins a four-game road trip that continues Sunday against the Montreal Canadiens; eight of the Jets' next nine games will be on the road. Coach Paul Maurice has not named a starting goaltender, but Hutchinson has started two of the past three. The Winnipeg lineup is healthy and no changes are expected. In a stretch of three games in four nights, Maurice cancelled practice Friday after Winnipeg finished a 3-2-1 homestand. Rookie forward Nikolaj Ehlers has a five-game point streak (three goals, two assists). Forward Drew Stafford is expected to play his 600th NHL game; defenseman Tyler Myers will play his 400th.
Blue Jackets team scope: Columbus plays the second of back-to-back games after a 2-1 loss Friday at the Washington Capitals. Forward Brandon Saad (illness) did not play Friday and his status has not been announced. Coach John Tortorella made defenseman Fedor Tyutin a healthy scratch Friday, replacing him with Kevin Connauton. The loss Friday completed a 2-2-0 road trip. Columbus is in a stretch of seven of eight games on the road; this game is the lone home game between Oct. 20 and Nov. 10.
